Who We Are

My 85-year-old Mom was diagnosed with cancer. This was a very difficult time for our family. We were not sure what the outcome would be. The chemo and radiation treatments were aggressive and placed my Mom in a situation where she needed constant care.

The care required was more than she could handle. It was not just her medical treatments, but her personal requirements as well — getting her mail, reviewing and paying her bills, reviewing her insurance coverages to ensure no mistakes, reconciling her bank account — making sure the money going out was covered by what was coming in. The household needs had to be handled including the utilities, taxes, HOA dues, credit cards and monthly maintenance on the house. 

Additionally, cash flow had to be accurate and in place, including Social Security, IRA monthly payments, and pension payments. I quickly found things were disorganized and not properly handled. I created financial files and structured a Management Process that could easily be monitored and managed. A budget system was set up.

My Mom had her last check-up after two years. She had beaten the odds. She was cancer-free. It was a long recovery, medically and financially. She still needed care and some oversight on her finances and daily money matters. However, she was now organized financially and her situation became well-managed and under control.

From this personal experience, I recognized there is a great need to help organize, improve and manage budgets, cash flow and banking for those who either can’t or don’t want the responsibility. Thus, applying my skills and experience, I have created a company to help fill that void, NexGen LLC Daily Money Managers. 

Jeff Phalen is the founder and active owner of NexGen LLC. His professional experience spans more than 25 years in business management specializing in Finance, Cost Controls, Budgets, Operational Efficiencies and P&L Management. He is a former President and CEO of a major manufacturing company and most recently the Chief Financial Officer for a large contractor. 

He is a graduate of the University of Arizona. He has attended the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, VA and received two certificates, Managing Critical Resources and Strategic Marketing Management.
